Our history
Altitude Optometry was founded on the vision of Dr. Georges Louis, a 2018 graduate of the University of Montreal. After earning his doctorate in optometry, he worked as a traveling optometrist in more than 30 clinics across the province, including in the Côte-Nord, Quebec City, and Chaudière-Appalaches regions. This unique experience inspired him to obtain his pilot’s license, thereby combining his two passions: optometry and aviation. That is how the name “Altitude Optométrie” came to be.
Today, Dr. Louis is supported by his partner, Dr. Danielle Richard, who also graduated in 2018 and is a former traveling optometrist. Together, they share a common vision for quality care and a passion for innovation in optometry. Drawing on their diverse backgrounds, they founded Altitude Optometry with the goal of combining medical expertise and technical precision to provide quality eye care in Gatineau.
