Our history
Altitude Optometry was born from the vision of Dr. Georges Louis, who graduated from the University of Montreal in 2018. Originally from Gatineau, Dr. Louis grew up developing a deep understanding of his community's needs. After obtaining his doctorate in optometry, he practiced as a flying optometrist in more than 30 clinics across the province, particularly in the Côte-Nord, Québec, and Chaudière-Appalaches regions. This unique experience inspired him to obtain his pilot's license, combining his two passions: optometry and aviation. That's how the name "Altitude Optometry" came about.
Today, Dr. Louis is supported by his partner, Dr. Danielle Richard, who also graduated in 2018 and is a former traveling optometrist. Together, they share a common vision for quality care and a passion for innovation in optometry. Drawing on their diverse backgrounds, they founded Altitude Optometry with the goal of combining medical expertise and technical precision to provide quality eye care in Gatineau.
